IPL 2020 Predictions: Kings XI Punjab Probable Playing XI

This is the possible eleven who can play most of the matches for KXIP in this edition.

1. Chris Gayle (LHB)

The Universal boss- Most experienced and successful batsman of this colourful format. Even though the West Indian giant struggles to find consistency like his 2013 IPL edition for the last few years, he is undoubtedly an irreplaceable opener who can ultimately create or change the script to the better side for his team. Above all, Gayle has this better rapport with his current captain KL Rahul as he had with Virat Kohli during his RCB days, and that is all he wants to do well.

2. KL Rahul (RHB/WK)

The skipper has a well-balanced side to lead for the first time. Besides, KL Rahul is the most improved shorter format batter in modern times. The ardent T20 player fills his cricket appetite through this format as it provides him space to exhibit all the wide range of his shots. So, get ready to witness the firebolt uppish drives, especially the whip shots from the technically sounded Indian cricketer.

3. Mayank Agarwal (RHB)

Mayank Agarwal hasn’t performed much in IPL, but this time, he is vibrant with his international debut, putting his head higher. No.3 will be the apt spot for Karnataka born batsman as it involves anchoring roles. Anyhow, there can’t be any better batsman for this spot other than him in KXIP.

4. Karun Nair (RHB)

A decent No. 4 who has yet to prove in this format. The cool-headed Karun has a reliable technique, and in the meanwhile, he is a better tackler of both the spin and the fast bowling. Therefore this Karnataka batsman needs more experimentation of aggressive approach this time. And if it goes well, the engine room will be steady.

5. Glenn Maxwell (RHB/ OB)

Glenn Maxwell has a separate fan base for his brave and innovative shots. Getting in at No.5 will give him a straight away license to go hard and set the gear on, in his own style. And at the same time, his experience can be handy while chasing. Consequently, the Australian’s brains and brawn can bring in more comfort to the Punjab-based franchise engine room.

6. James Neesham (LHB/ RAMF)

The fast bowling-all rounder from New Zealand is an excellent addition to the squad. Works in all three departments. Big hitter and a suitable choice at the lower middle order who faces the death overs with his fluent lofted strokes. Third seemer for the side. If he excels, it will be a bolstering element for Kings XI Punjab squad.

7. Krishnappa Gowtham ( RHB/ OB)

Krishnappa Gowtham is a sensational pinch hitter known for his sudden burst in the final overs. He has all the ability to be dangerous under pressure—an off-spinner who never misses showcasing his shrewdness with his minimal number of variations.

8. Mohammed Shami (RAF)
